MASON RUDOLPH INTERCOLLEGIATE SHORTENED DUE TO WEATHER

FRANKLIN, TENN. - - Stormy conditions throughout middle Tennessee ultimately reduced the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate hosted by Vanderbilt University to an 18-hole event.

Originally slated for 54 holes, weather made the 7,100 yard Par 71 Roper’s Knob Golf Course at the Vanderbilt Legends Club unplayable.

Therefore, Belmont University men's golf was credited with a 15th place finish - the position it stood after Sunday's opening round.

Sophomore Stuart Ashwood (Northampton, England) placed T-13 after an opening round even par round of 71.

Sophomore Simon Marshall (North Yorkshire, England) finished T-41 with his opening 74. Sophomore Bryn Rocke (Durban, South Africa) placed T-57 following a first round 75.

Junior Danny Amundson (Sioux Falls, S.D.) shot a six over par 77 to come in T-66. Sophomore Scott O’Brien (Brookings, S.D.) placed T-88 after an opening round 81.

The Bruins’ team total of 297 (+13) put them 14 shots off the pace of overall team champion Ole Miss.

Jake Amos of Augusta State was deemed medalist after his opening four under par 67.

Belmont finishes the fall season at the WCU Intercollegiate November 5-6.
