MEN'S GOLF PLACES FIFTH AT THE TUSCULUM INVITATIONAL

Greeneville, Tenn. – The Belmont men’s golf team placed fifth at the weather-shortened Tusculum Invitational held Sunday in Greeneville, Tennessee.

The Bruins shot a team score of 297 (+13) on Sunday to finish nine shots behind tournament champion Shorter College.

Belmont had two golfers among top-15. Both Dan Smith and Stuart Ashwood tied for 11th after posting a two-over par 72 in Sunday’s round. They finished six shots behind individual medalist Chris Wynne of Tusculum, who shot 67. Other Belmont scores included: Simon Marshall (T-27th, 75), Danny Amundson (T-40th, 76), and Scott O’Brien (T-59th, 78).

The Bruins will be back in action on March 24-25 at the Carter Plantation Invitational in Springfield, Louisiana.
