Fla. – Even though they shot a 283, the third lowest team
score in today’s final round; it was not enough to move up the standings
as the Belmont men’s golf team finished in sixth place at the Atlantic
Sun Men’s Golf Championship held this week at Eagle Creek Golf Club
in Orlando, Florida.
The Bruins posted a final round score of 283 to give them a 54-hole score
of 869. They finished 24 shots behind conference champion Jacksonville,
but just seven shots behind fourth place Campbell and two shots behind
fifth place Mercer.
Belmont had two golfers place in the top-20. Seniors Adam Wynia and Mike
Martin finished tied for 16th place with a 54-hole score of 217. Wynia
carded a five-under par round of 68 to move him up from 27th place, while
Martin posted a 75 in today’s final round. Other Belmont finishers
included: Jeff Lanier (T-26th, 222), Brenton Flynn (T-26th, 222), and
Danny Amundson (T-31st, 223). The tournament medallist was Duncan Stewart
of Jacksonville, who defended hi individual title from last year with
a win in a playoff over fellow JU golfer Russell Knox.

The Bruins will compete in their final tournament of the season on April
