MEN'S GOLF PLACES FIFTH AT THE CAVALIER CLASSIC

Charlottesville, Va. – The Belmont Bruins men’s golf team wrapped up its 2005-2006 season by finishing fifth at the Cavalier Classic hosted by the University of Virginia this weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Bruins carded a 54-hole team score of 907, 36 shots behind tournament champion Maryland.

They were led by senior Adam Wynia, who finished in a tie for 16th place with a 54-hole score of 223 (seven over-par). Other Belmont scores included: Mike Martin (T-21st, 225), Jeff Lanier (T-35th, 232), Brenton Flynn (T-35th, 232), John Baldwin (T-44th, 236).

Belmont concludes their 2005-2006 season with this tournament. For the year, they won two team championships (Samford, Belmont) and posted a total of six top-five finishes.
