NASHVILLE,
TENN. - - Belmont University Men’s Golf Head Coach Brian Costello
announced Tuesday the signing of Robby McNiff to a national letter of
intent.
McNiff, a native of Muskegon, Michigan, was a three-time All-State player
for Muskegon Mona Shores High School. He was also an Honorable Mention
All-State selection as a freshman. MMSHS won two team state titles during
McNiff’s high school career.
McNiff was named to the prestigious Michigan Super Team his junior year
in high school. Costello believes the addition of a player of McNiff’s
repute with enhance the Belmont program.
"Robby is a great young man who knows how to win,” Costello
said. “He comes from a strong golfing background and has a great
attitude and a solid work ethic. I expect Robby to step right in and compete
for a spot in the lineup next season."
Costello has strong ties to the Wolverine state, as he served as Associate
Head Coach at the University of Detroit-Mercy prior to coming to Belmont.
The Bruins open the spring season February 17-18, 2007 at Rice University.
