Macon,
Ga. –The Belmont men and women’s golf programs had
three players earn All-Conference honors when the Atlantic Sun Conference
announced its All-Conference teams on Thursday. Adam Wynia and Jeff Lanier
were honored on the men’s side, while Lorie Warren was honored on
the women’s side.
Wynia (pictured left) earned first team honors for the first time in
his Belmont career. He was named to the A-Sun second team last year. The
senior from Sioux Falls, S.D. led the team with a 72.6 scoring average,
which the second lowest season average in Belmont Division I history.
He posted four top-10s this past season, including a season-best third
place at the Belmont Intercollegiate.
Lanier was named to the conference’s second team. The junior from
Austin, Texas was second on the team in scoring (72.9) and set new school
records for lowest 18-hole score (64), lowest 36-hole score (130), and
lowest 54-hole score (199). He posted four top-10s this season and won
the individual title at the Southern Showdown last September.
Lorie
Warren (pictured right) was named All-Atlantic Sun second team and to
the conference’s All-Freshman team. The Hendersonville, Tennessee
native led the Bruins with a 77.6 scoring average, the lowest for a season
in school history. During the season, she also set new Belmont records
for lowest 18-hole score (71) and lowest 36-hole score (143). She posted
five top-10 finishes, which included a season-best tie for second place
at the McAmis Invitational in April.

Both Belmont golf teams have wrapped up their 2005-06 season. The Belmont
men’s squad won two team championships (Samford, Belmont) and posted
a total of five top-five finishes. The women’s team had four top-five
finishes, including a season-neat third place finish at the McAmis Invitational.
