WOMEN'S GOLF TIES FOR SIXTH AT THE COWGIRL CLASSIC
WARREN PLACES THIRD INDIVIDUALLY

Chandler, Ariz . – The Belmont women’s golf team tied for sixth place at this week’s Cowgirl Classic hosted by the University of Wyoming in Chandler, Arizona.

The Bruins finished with a 54-team score of 950, which tied them for sixth place with Wichita State. They were 38 shots behind the team champion Eastern Washington University and 35 shots behind second place Wyoming.

Belmont was led by junior Lorie Warren. The Hendersonville, Tenn. native placed third with a 54-hole score of 222, one shot off the school record that she set a few weeks back at Samford. She posted a 71 on Tuesday to go with her 77 and 74 on day one. It was her seventh top-10 finish of the season. In addition, freshman Lauren Spurlock tied for 37th after posting a score of 241. Other Belmont scores included: Lauren Oeser (T-42, 243), Ashleigh Garman (T-55, 248), Rebekah Wilson (57th, 249), and Laura Dyson, competing as an individual (87th, 290).

The Bruins are back in action next Monday-Wednesday as they compete at the A-Sun Championships in Johnson City, Tennessee.
