Braselton,
Ga. – Posting their best score of the tournament in the
final round, the Belmont women’s golf finished fourth at this week’s
Larry Nelson Collegiate Invitational hosted by Kennesaw State in Braselton,
Georgia.
The Bruins posted a final round team score of 308 to finish with a 54-hole
total of 947, which was good for fourth place out of 17 teams. They finished
19 shots behind tournament champion Chattanooga. It marked the sixth time
in eight tournaments this season that Belmont had posted a top-five team
finish.
BU had two golfers among the top-20. Junior Lorie Warren shot a 72 in
Tuesday’s final round to finish third with a 54-hole score of 226.
It marked her sixth top-five finish of the season. Fellow junior Lauren
Oeser tied for 17th place to finish with a score of 236. It was Lauren’s
third top-20 finish of the season. Other Belmont scores included: Ashleigh
Garman (T-44, 246), Lauren Spurlock (T-49, 248), Rebekah Wilson (T-52,
249), and Laura Dyson -- competing as an individual (72, 259).
Belmont is back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Wyoming Cowgirl
Classic in Chandler, Arizona.
