WOMEN'S GOLF PLACES NINTH AT THE SAMFORD WOMEN'S INTERCOLLEGIATE

Oneonta, Ala. – The Belmont women’s golf team finished ninth at this week’s Samford Women’s Intercollegiate held Monday and Tuesday in Oneonta, Alabama.

The Bruins finished with 54-hole team score of 936, 52 strokes behind tournament champion Tulsa.

Belmont was led by junior Lorie Warren. She finished in fifth place after posting a school record 54-hole score of 221, which broke her own record of 223 set last year at Samford. It was also her sixth top-10 finish of the season. Other Belmont scores included: Lauren Oeser (T-39th, 236), Lauren Spurlock (T-43rd, 238), Rebekah Wilson (T-57th, 243), and Ashleigh Garman (T-67th, 251).

Two Belmont golfers competed as individuals. Laura Dyson placed 65th with a three-round score of 249, while Ginna Beazley withdrew in round three.

The Bruins are back in action on March 31-April 1 at the Larry Nelson Collegiate Invitational in Braselton, Georgia.
