Tenn. – The Belmont women’s track and field team
opened up its spring season by competing at the Austin Peay Spring Fling
held Saturday in Clarksville, Tennessee.
The Bruins posted 11 top-fives in the seven events they competed in during
the meet. Two Belmont athletes earned individual event titles at the meet.
Sophomore Lizz Pollock, a Clarksville native, won the 400 meter hurdles
with a school record time of 1:02.72. She also finished third in the 100
meter hurdles with a school record time of 15.08. Sophomore and Clarksville
native Lynette Rives won the 200 meter title with a time of 25.38. In
addition, freshman Khalia Turner placed second in the 400 meters, while
junior Lauren Williams finished second in the 800 meters.

Belmont is back in action next Saturday as they compete at the Rhodes
