BELMONT WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD TEAM PARTICIPATES IN THREE MEETS OVER WEEKEND

May 14 at Atlantic Sun Championships

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women’s track and field team participated in the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, the Oregon Relays in Portland, Ore. and the Stan Lyons Invitational, hosted by Butler University in Indianapolis over the weekend.

Senior Lauren Weaver (Nashville, Tenn.) participated at the Oregon Relays in the 5000 Meter Run and placed third with a time of 16:25.54.

At the Stan Lyons Invitational, sophomore Elizabeth Codrington (Gretna, La.) finished second in the Triple Jump with a distance of 11.59m.

Junior Mollie Schlarman (Southgate, Ky.) placed eighth in the 800 Meter Run on a time of 2:19.91.

Sophomore Britney Green (Rowlette, Tex.) participated in the 200 Meter Dash and posted a time of 26.99s and the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:01.73.

At the Drake Relays, the relay team of freshman Quina Fortune (New Orleans), junior Elizabeth Pollock (Clarksville, Tenn.), sophomore Khalia Turner (Nashville, Tenn.) and junior Lynette Rives (Clarksville, Tenn.) ran the 4x400 Relay in a time of 3:51.03.

The team will return to action at the Atlantic Sun Championships in Clemson, S.C. on May. 16.
