Weekend of Apr. 24-26

NASHVILLE,
Tenn. – The women’s track and field team participated at the
Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, Tenn. this past weekend.
Junior Elizabeth Pollock (Clarksville, Tenn.) finished in first place
in the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 1:00.02 to qualify for the NCAA
Regionals.
Junior Lynette Rives (Clarksville, Tenn.) finished second in the 200
Meter Dash with a time of 23.62s, breaking her own school record. Her
time was good enough to also qualify for the NCAA Regionals. Freshman
Quina Fortune (New Orleans) ran the race in 24.09s, good enough for ninth
place.
The Bruins also placed second in the 4x100 Meter Relay with a time of
45.78. The team consisted of Pollock, Rives, Fortune and sophomore Khalia
Turner (Nashville, Tenn.). The same four runners participated in the 4x400
Meter Relay and finished in seventh place on a time of 3:52.95.
Rives also finished fifth in the 100 Meter Dash with another personal
and school-record breaking performance of 11.57s.
Senior Christa Coppin (Brentwood, Tenn.) placed fourth in the Pole Vault
with a height of 3.50m.
Senior Lauren Weaver (Nashville, Tenn.) finished fifth in the 1500 Meter
Run with a time of 4:29.75. Junior Mollie Schlarman (Southgate, Ky.) also
ran in the race and posted a time of 4:40.81, good enough for 10th place
and freshman Dominique Roy (Halifax, Nova Scotia) placed 16th with a time
of 4:48.23.
Senior Elizabeth Smothers (Brentwood, Tenn.) placed 10th in the 3000
Meter Steeplechase with a time of 11:51.04.
The Bruins will return to action on the weekend of Apr. 24-26.
