Knoxville, Tenn. – Belmont freshman sprinter Lynette Rives (Clarksville, Tenn./Rossview HS) placed 19th in the 400 meters Friday at the NCAA Mideast Regional in Knaoxville, Tennessee. With her finish, she failed to qualify for the finals.

Rives placed 19th with a time of 55.16 in tonight’s preliminary heats. She was the second fastest freshman among the four who competed in the event. The top qualifier from tonight was Deonna Lawrence of LSU, who posted a time of 52.26 and was one of seven who qualified for tomorrow’s finals.
