Head Coach
Lindsey Tonkin is entering her fifth year as the head cheerleading coach
for Belmont University.
Lindsey grew up in Chattanooga, TN where she was a cheerleader at Red
Bank High School for 4 years, serving on varsity for 3 of those years
and as captain her senior year. She was a member of Red Bank’s
competition squad, and also cheered competitively with the senior coed
all-star team at United Cheerleading in Chattanooga.
In 1997 Lindsey was named a Universal Cheerleaders Association all-star.
After graduating from high school in 1998, Lindsey was a UCA cheerleading
instructor for 4 years.
Lindsey attended the University of Alabama where she was a cheerleader
for the Crimson Tide and a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She received
a degree in Advertising from Alabama in 2002.
During the NHL’s 2007-2008 season, Lindsey was a dancer for the
Nashville Predators.
Over the years, Lindsey has judged several local, regional, and national
cheerleading & dance competitions and is certified by the American
Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors.
Currently, Lindsey is a full time employee at 1220 Exhibits in Nashville,
where she is an Account Manager for Museum Services.
