NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University Athletics announced Monday a new corporate partnership with Ascend Federal Credit Union for the 2017-18 academic year.
The partnership means Belmont students and faculty can expect to see more of Middle Tennessee's largest credit union on their campus, particularly in speakers' series and financial literacy workshops.
"We are excited to welcome Ascend Federal Credit Union as a Belmont Athletics' corporate partner," Belmont director of athletics Scott Corley said. "Ascend's tagline – Raising Possibilities – embodies the Bruin model of investing in the lives of others and enriching the Nashville community. We thank Caren Gabriel and the team at Ascend for their support, and look forward to a lasting relationship."
Among the partnership highlights, Ascend becomes presenting sponsor of the Bruin Sports Network. Belmont and Ascend already share a common bond in Nashville sports radio leader, 104.5 The Zone. Belmont Basketball is the only Middle Tennessee sports entity to have games aired on 104.5 The Zone since the station adopted a sports talk format in the fall of 2003, and Ascend has an abiding sponsorship of the Ring of Honor recognizing area athletes and coaches.
With more than $2 billion in assets and more than 170,000 members, Ascend is the largest credit union in Middle Tennessee and one of the largest federally chartered credit unions in the United States. The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) selected Ascend as the 2015 Federal Credit Union of the Year. Ascend is federally insured by the NCUA.
