Lindsey Tonkin is entering her eighth year as the head cheerleading coach for Belmont University.

Lindsey grew up in Chattanooga, TN where she was a cheerleader at Red Bank High School for 4 years, serving on varsity for 3 of those years and as captain her senior year. She was a member of Red Bank's competition squad, and also cheered competitively with the coed all-star team at United Cheerleading in Chattanooga. In 1997 Lindsey was named a Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) All-Star. After graduating from high school in 1998, Lindsey was a UCA cheerleading instructor for 4 years.

Lindsey attended the University of Alabama where she was a cheerleader for the Crimson Tide and a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She received a degree in Advertising from Alabama in 2002.

In 2006, Lindsey was a Nashville Predators Dancer.

Over the years, Lindsey has judged several local, regional, and national cheerleading & dance competitions and is certified by the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors (AACCA).
