Three Belmont Head Coaches Appointed to NCAA Sports Committees

MACON, Ga. -- The Atlantic Sun Conference announced Friday that three Belmont University head coaches, Lissa Bradford, Rick Byrd, and Chris Kuhlmeyer, have been approved by the NCAA Division I Administration Cabinet for NCAA committee appointments effective September 1, 2011.

Lissa Bradford, Belmont’s Head Women’s Golf Coach, has been appointed to the Division I Women’s Golf Committee.  She will represent the East Region and be one of six members of the committee.  Bradford’s duties as a committee member include serving as chairs to the regional advisory committees, participating on conference calls approaching selections to evaluate teams and individuals, serving as a NCAA site representative for regional golf tournaments, and attending the NCAA Championship.

Two head coaches have been named to their respective sport’s rules committees.  Rick Byrd, Head Men’s Basketball Coach, has been appointed to the Men’s Basketball committee, while Chris Kuhlmeyer, Head Softball Coach was named to the Softball committee.  Duties for Rules Committee members include: awareness of rules issues that come up during the season and comparing ideas and gauging opinions on potential rules changes with colleagues in their conference and region. 

These three appointees join the other fourteen (14) Atlantic Sun Conference personnel currently representing the conference on various councils, cabinets and committees.
