Johnson, Padilla Named Belmont's Student-Athletes of the Month for September
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Senior volleyball player Maggie Johnson (Naperville, Ill.) and senior men’s soccer player Edgardo Padilla (Grapevine, Texas) have been named Belmont Student-Athletes of the Month for September 2011.
Belmont University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Month honorees are nominated by faculty, staff coaches and athletic administration, based on the following criteria:
- Effort and Excellence in Academics
- Effort and Excellence in Athletics
- Dedication to Team
- Leadership
- Integrity
- Campus Involvement
- Community Service
- Ability to serve as a role model for current and future Belmont students and student-athletes
In the three year existence of the award, Johnson is the fourth volleyball player to earn the award, while Padilla is the second men’s soccer player to garner this honor.
