NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Alec Diamond's (Kennesaw, Ga.) game winning hit in the bottom of the eleventh, pushed Belmont Baseball (28-11, 14-4) past crosstown rival Lipscomb, 5-4 Tuesday at Rose Park.

Lipscomb loaded the bases in the first but only scored one after starter Jordan Deal (Brownsburg, Ind.) pitched out of the jam.

A walk and a pair of singles loaded the bases for the Bruins in the bottom of the third. A sacrifice fly from Judah Akers (Cookeville, Tenn.) scored Jamie Ritchie (Buford, Ga.). A two-run single through the left side from Jared Breen (Marietta, Ga.) put Belmont ahead 3-1.

Lipscomb's Drew Adams hit a solo home run over the left field fence to cut Belmont's lead, 3-2 in the top of the fifth.

The Bisons tied the game, 3-3, in the top of the eighth with another solo homer from Tyson Ashcraft.

Ashcraft hit his second home run of the game in the top of the tenth to put the Bisons ahead, 4-3.

Dom Veltri (Clarksville, Tenn.) responded with a leadoff single up the middle and advanced to second on an error. Diamond laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move Veltri over to third. Veltri scored and tied the game at 4-4 on a passed ball.

The Bruins loaded the bases in the bottom half of the inning, but the runners were left stranded.

A single from Diamond scored Scott Moses (Englewood, Tenn.) in the bottom of the eleventh to push the Bruins past Lipscomb 5-4.

This was the fifth time this season, the Bruins have played an extra innings game.

Moses earned the win for his third win of the season after going four innings on the mound and striking out two.

Belmont will entertain Eastern Illinois for a three-game conference series beginning Friday at 5:00pm.
