Baseball Completes Sweep of UT Martin Sunday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With a 6-3 win Sunday, Belmont completed the sweep of UT Martin.

Jamie Ritchie loaded the bases in the first after reaching on a fielder's choice. Greg Brody stepped into the box and crushed the ball over the left field fence for his first home run of the season and the first Belmont grand slam.

Drake Byrd hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the seventh and scored on an error by the 1st baseman. Walsh scored on a WP

The Skyhawks avoided the shutout as they plated three runs in the top of the ninth.

Austin Coley went 6.2 innings on the mound scattering five hits. The junior right-hander struck out 11 and walked two. 

Belmont will begin a five-game road swing Tuesday at Middle Tennessee. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:00pm.
