Baseball Begins Road Swing at Middle Tennessee Tuesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Belmont looks to continue its winning ways as the team begins a five-game road swing Tuesday at Middle Tennessee.

The Bruins swept UT Martin over the weekend and have now won six straight games. 

Drew Ferguson leads the team with a .356 average and a team-best 37 hits, including 11 doubles and eight home runs. Jamie Ritchie, who was a triple short of the cycle Wednesday, has 33 hits on the season with ten doubles, three home runs 19 RBI. 


Middle Tennessee enters the midweek contest with a 14-17 record, as the team lost two of three at Southern Miss over the weekend. Trent Miller leads the Blue Raiders as he is batting .344 with 42 hits, including 14 doubles. Miller also has a team-best 20 RBI. Jared Allen and Ryan Stephens lead the team with four home runs a piece. 

Tomorrow's game can be heard on the Bruins Sports Network. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:00pm.

Notes:

  • Belmont and the Blue Raiders split the series last year as the Bruins won 3-1 at Rose Park and fell 12-9 in Murfreesboro. 
  • Middle Tennessee will return the trip to Nashville on May 13.
