Men's Basketball Ranked No. 6 in Final Mid Major Top 25 Poll

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont Men's Basketball ranked No. 6 in the final Mid Major Top 25 Poll of 2010-11.

The No. 6 final ranking represents the highest in program history; Belmont was No. 11 in the final Mid Major Top 25 Poll of 2007-08.

One of only nine NCAA Division I men's basketball programs to reach the 30-win plateau this season, Belmont further solidified its place among the top mid-major programs in America.

Moreover, the Bruins finished among the nation's best in several other respected ranking services:

  • No. 18 (Basketball State)
  • No. 19 (Ken Pomeroy)
  • No. 41 (Jeff Sagarin)
  • No. 51 (RPI)

Butler, VCU, George Mason, Old Dominion and Wichita State comprised the Mid Major top five. Belmont, Gonzaga, Oakland, Missouri State and Princeton rounded out the top 10.
