Men's Basketball Heads to Murfreesboro for EA Sports Maui Invitational Regional Games
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont Basketball returns to action Saturday against Towson as part of the Regional Games of the 2011 EA Sports Maui Invitational.
After nearly snapping Duke's 86 game non-conference home court win streak Nov. 11, the Bruins dropped a 97-81 decision at No. 10 Memphis Nov. 15. Sophomore J.J. Mann scored a career-high 18 points for Belmont.
Junior Kerron Johnson has continued his high level of play from last season. The dynamic guard is averaging 14.0 points, 6.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game.
Belmont joined Michigan State as the first two programs in seven years to open a season with back-to-back games against teams ranked in the Top 10 nationally.
Towson faced Kansas and Michigan in the Opening Games of the EA Sports Maui Invitational.
Tip-off Saturday is set for 2:30pm CT, with the live play-by-play on the Bruin Sports Network.
Bruin fans are encouraged to take in the action this weekend at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn.; admission to each day session Saturday and Sunday is $10.
