Men's Basketball Hosts Kennesaw State Thursday in Conference Opener

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont Basketball continues a four-game homestand Thursday against Kennesaw State in its Atlantic Sun Conference opener.

Belmont followed up its EA Sports Maui Invitational Regional Championship with an 86-61 victory over NAIA Trevecca Nazarene Monday. Junior Kerron Johnson scored a career-high 16 points and added six assists in the win.

The Bruins have won three consecutive games.

Belmont leads the overall series with Kennesaw State, 10-2. The Bruins have won the five previous meetings at the Curb Event Center.

Fans are encouraged to take part in 'Tailgating for the Troops' prior to Thursday night's game. The tailgate begins at 6:30pm CT in the Beaman Student Life Center, adjacent to the Curb Event Center.

Local active and veteran military personnel will be attending, and Belmont fans will be sending care packages and hand written letters to a National Guard Unit currently deployed overseas.
