Men's Basketball Plays Florida Gulf Coast Saturday in Atlantic Sun Tournament Final

MACON, Ga. - - Belmont men's basketball plays Florida Gulf Coast Saturday in the final round of the 2012 Atlantic Sun Basketball Championships.

Belmont shot 58 percent from the field in the second half in defeating East Tennessee State, 69-61, Friday in the Atlantic Sun semifinals. Junior Ian Clark (Memphis, Tenn.) scored a game-high 19 points for the Bruins.

Over its last 13 games, Belmont is averaging 83.5 points per game on 50.8 percent shooting, with four players averaging double figure scoring.

Belmont has made 27 three-point field goals in three games at the University Center this season (9, Mercer; 6, Jacksonville; 12, ETSU).

Belmont senior Drew Hanlen (St. Louis, Mo.) nearly registered the first triple-double of Belmont's NCAA era against FGCU Jan. 16, 2012 - tallying nine points, nine assists, and eight rebounds.

Belmont is 4-0 in Atlantic Sun Tournament finals.

This marks the 10th meeting between Belmont and FGCU. The Bruins hold a 7-2 series lead, which includes two victories this season.

Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CT from the University Center in Macon, Ga. The live play-by-play of Voice of the Bruins Kevin Ingram can be heard on the Bruin Sports Network and 104.5 The Zone. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
