NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball senior Ian Clark (Memphis, Tenn.) has been named adidas OVC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Clark continued his outstanding play on both ends of the floor, leading Belmont to victories over Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee State this past week as the Bruins remained undefeated in league play.
The 6-3 guard averaged 22.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 steals per game in the two victories. For the season, Clark ranks third in the OVC in scoring at 19.1 points per game.
Over the past four games, the Memphis, Tenn. native has scored a staggering 106 points.
Known as one of the premier shooters in college basketball, Clark ranks in the Top 10 nationally in three-point field goals per game and three-point field goal percentage. Moreover, Clark is third nationally in effective field goal percentage - which accounts for two-point and three-point field goal attempts - by Ken Pomeroy.
This is the third time Clark has been named adidas OVC Player of the Week this season; he also received the honor Nov. 26 and Jan. 14.
Belmont (15-4, 6-0 OVC) returns to action Thursday, Jan. 24 at Morehead State.
