NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Former Belmont University men's basketball forward Nick Smith ('17) has agreed to terms on a professional playing contract with TV Langen of the German Bundesliga.
Part of four consecutive OVC Championship teams, Smith scored 781 points in 126 career games for the Bruins.
Smith recorded 39 career double figure scoring games, including his career-high 30-point performance vs. UT Martin (1/5/17) where he tied the Curb Event Center single-game record with 10 3-point field goals.
Known for his prolific 3-point shooting, Smith made 193 shots from behind the arc in a Belmont uniform.
The Bentonville, Arkansas native graduated with honors in May, earning a bachelor's degree in marketing.
Just hours after arriving in Germany and meeting his TV Langen teammates, Smith unofficially tallied 30 points and 17 rebounds in an exhibition contest against Giessen 46ers, featuring former college standouts Dee Davis (Xavier) and Austin Hollins (Minnesota).
Smith is one of six former Belmont men's basketball players currently playing professionally: Ian Clark (NBA/New Orleans Pelicans), Alex Renfroe (Turkey), Kerron Johnson (Germany), Craig Bradshaw (Germany), J.J. Mann (free agent).
