Braselton, Ga. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in ninth place at the Atlantic Sun Championship held this week at The Legends at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia.
Belmont carded a team score of 295 in Wednesday's final round to finish the tournament in ninth place with a score of 901. The tournament champion was ETSU, which finished the event with a 54-hole score of 859.
The Bruins finished the championship with two golfers among the top-30. Senior Scott O'Brien shot a one-over par 73 on Wednesday and finished in a tie for 19th place with a 54-hole score of 222. Fellow senior Stuart Ashwood tied for 26th place after carding a two-under par 70 on Wednesday to finish with a score of 224. Senior Gaylon Cude finished in 38th place with a score of 229. Junior Dan Smith posted a three-over par 75 on Wednesday to place in a tie for 39th at 230, while freshman Elliott Wickenden tied for 45th place with a score of 233. The individual medalist was Seamus Power of ETSU, who finished at 210.

This event concludes the 2009-10 season for the Belmont men's golf team. They finished the campaign by posting six top-10 finishes, including a season-best fifth place showing at the Murray State Fall Invitational.
