Men's Golf Stands Sixth after First Round of the UC Bearcat Invitational

HEBRON, Ky. – The Belmont men's golf is in sixth place after round one of the UC Bearcat Invitational held Monday at the Traditions Golf Club in Hebron, Kentucky.  Round two, which was scheduled to be completed Monday afternoon, was suspended due to darkness. 

The Bruins shot a team score of 295 in the first round to finish the day in sixth place.  They are six shots behind tournament leaders Oakland and host Cincinnati.

Belmont has three golfers among the top-25.  Sophomore Elliott Wickenden is tied for fifth place after carding a one-under par 71 in the first round.  Senior Dan Smith and freshman Ben Simpson are tied for 24th place after both shot rounds of 74 in round one.  Other Belmont scores from the first round included: freshman Logan Hance (T-42nd, 76) and freshman Max Markley (T-50th, 77).

Round two will be completed on Tuesday morning beginning at 7:30am CT.  Once the second round is finished, the third and final round will begin.
