Men's Golf Finishes 16th at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate
HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in 16th place at this week's F&M Bank Austin Peay Intercollegiate held this week at The Links of Novadell in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Belmont carded a team score of 292 in Tuesday's final round to finish in 16th place with a 36-hole mark of 881. Jacksonville State was the team champion with a score of 822.
The Bruins were led by senior Dan Smith, who finished in a tie for 51st place with a score of 218. Sophomore Ben Simpson posted a two-under par 70 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 56th place with a score of 219. Other Belmont scores from the tournament included: Logan Hance (T-67TH, 222), sophomore Max Markley (T-80th, 225). David Novinger withdrew before Tuesday's final round.
Sophomore Elliott Wickenden competed as an individual and finished in 89th place with a score of 236.
This week's tournament wraps up the fall season for the Bruins. They will hit the links again on March 7-8 at the Samford Intercollegiate.
