Men's Golf Moves to 14th Place after Day Two of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate

PINEHURST, N. C. – The Belmont men's golf team moved up one spot to 14th place after two rounds of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate held Saturday at Pinehurst #6 in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

In Saturday's second round, Belmont improved their team score by 10 shots.  They posted a 302 to finish in 14th place with a 36-hole score of 614.  They are 29 shots behind tournament leader UNC-Wilmington.

The Bruins still have two golfers the top-50.  Senior Dan Smith carded a one-over par 72 on Saturday to move up to a tie for 26th place at 149.  Sophomore Elliott Wickenden is tied for 50th place at 153 after posting a 75 in the second round.  Other Belmont scores include: Ben Simpson (T-58th, 155), Max Markley (T-68th, 158), and Logan Hance (T-77th, 160).

The third and final round will begin Sunday morning at 8:00am CT.
