Men's Golf Stands in Seventh after Day One of the UK Bluegrass Fall Invitational
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Belmont men's golf team is in seventh place after day one of the UK Bluegrass Fall Invitational held Saturday at the University Club in Lexington, Kentucky.
After 36 holes of play, Belmont stands in seventh place after shooting rounds of 306 and 293 on Saturday for a total of 599. They are 22 shots behind tournament leader and host Kentucky, who shot a 577.
The Bruins have two players among the top-20. Junior Elliott Wickenden is tied for fifth place at 143 after carding rounds of 71 and 72 on Saturday. Freshman Ted Moon, playing in his first collegiate tournament, is tied for 15th place with a 36-hole score of 147. He posted rounds of 74 and 73. Other Belmont scores from Saturday include: sophomore Ben Simpson (T-27th, 150), freshman Adam Sanders (T-74th, 159), and freshman Chris Thurman (T-80th, 163).
The third and final round of the tournament will begin Sunday morning at 7:00am CT.
