Men's Golf Stands in 8th Place after Day One of the APSU Intercollegiate
HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – The Belmont men's golf team is in eighth place after day one of the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate held Monday at The Links of Novadell in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
The Bruins shot rounds of 295 and 281 on Monday to finish the day with a 36-hole team score of 576. They are 16 shots behind tournament leader and host Austin Peay.
Two Belmont freshmen are among the top-10 in the individual standings. Ted Moon is tied for seventh place at 140. He posted rounds of 71 and 69 on day one. Adam Sanders is one shot back of Moon and tied for 10th place at 141 after carding rounds of 73 and 68 on Monday. Other Belmont scores from day one include: junior Elliott Wickenden (T-52nd, 147), sophomore Ben SImposn (T-64th, 150), and freshman Carson Ward (T-64th, 150). Freshman Chris Thurman is competing as an individual and is tied for 60th place at 150.
The third and final round will begin Tuesday morning at 8:00am with a shotgun start.
