Men's Tennis Wraps Up Play at the UNC-Greensboro Fall Invitational
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Belmont men's tennis team opened up its 2010 fall season this past weekend at the UNC-Greesboro Fall Invitational in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The highlight of singles play for the Bruins was sophomore Bruno Silva. In Flight A-4, the Goiania, Brazil native won his quarterfinal match over John Taylor of Tennessee Tech 6-4, 7-6, but fell in the semifinals to Nathan White of UNC-Asheville 6-4, 7-6, 1-0 (11-9).
In doubles action, both of Belmont's duos lost in the quarterfinals of their respective flights. In Doubles A, Renato Antun and Rafael Matos fell to Alex Chen and Justin Kirstein of Tennessee Tech 8-6, while in B Doubles, Jonathan Murrell and Bruno Silva lost to Ryan Spencer and Justin Suesserman of Kennesaw State 9-8 (7-5).
Belmont will be back in action this weekend, September 17-18 at the River Forest Collegiate Invitational in River Forest, IL.
