NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis team fell to visiting Tennessee Tech 4-3 in a match played Tuesday afternoon at Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville.
The Bruins captured the first point of the match as they won two of the three doubles matches. Rodrigo Amaral and Rafael Matos beat Vasily Eremeev and Murilo Oliviera 8-6 at number one, while Bruno Silva and Felipe Cirne Lima beat Joseph Proctor and James Crawford 8-6.
In singles, the Golden Eagles stormed back, earning wins at the numbers one, two, five and six positions, to clinch the 4-3 victory over Belmont. The Bruins did pick up wins in two singles matches. At number three, Felipe Cirne Lima beat Murilo Oliviera 6-2, 7-5, while Bruno Silva defeated James Crawford 6-1, 2-6, 6-1 at the number four position.
Belmont (0-13) has their final home match of the season on Friday afternoon as they host Western Kentucky at 1:00pm at Centennial Sportsplex.
