Joe Frye Tabbed as A-Sun Field Athlete of the Week
MACON, Ga. – Senior men's track and field thrower Joe Frye (Roscommon, Mich.) has been tabbed the Atlantic Sun Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
At the Boston-Moon Collegiate Classic last weekend, Frye won the discus and also finished first in the hammer with a school record mark of 59.58 meters. Presently, he owns the A-Sun's best performance in the hammer throw and discus. In addition he ranks 43rd in the nation and 20th in the east region in the hammer.
This is the eighth time in his career that he has been honored with the A-Sun's weekly track and field award (indoor and outdoor).
Frye and the rest of his Bruin teammates head to Jacksonville, Florida this weekend for the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship. The competition begins on Friday and continues through Saturday.
