Bridger-Wilkinson Competes at NCAA East Regional Thursday
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont men's track and field sophomore 1,500-meter run specialist Marcus Bridger-Wilkinson (Newbury, England) will begin his trek to advance through the rounds of competition at the 2012 NCAA East Regional beginning on Thursday afternoon.
Bridger-Wilkinson qualified for regional competition in the 1,500m on May 4 after taking fourth in the event with a time of 3:45.92 at the Billy Hays Invitational, simultaneously shattering a 34-year-old Belmont record in the event. The Newbury, England native also outpaced his conference foes won the event at the 2012 Atlantic Sun Outdoor Championships last month.

Bridger-Wilkinson will be racing on a familiar track as the East Regional is being hosted by University of North Florida, the site of this year's Atlantic Sun Outdoor Championships. The 1,500m is slated to begin at 4:30 CT.
The top competitors in each event at the NCAA East Regional will advance to the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held June 6-9 in Des Moines, Iowa.
