Men's Cross Country To Race At Commodore Classic Saturday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - The Belmont men's cross country team is returning home to Nashville to compete in the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic on Saturday.  The Bruins opened the season with a third place finish at the Eye Opener Invitational two weeks ago.

This weekend's meet, to be held at Percy Warner Park, will be an eight kilometer race starting at 9:00 a.m.  There will be 15 men's teams competing at the meet, including the host Commodores, Tennessee and A-Sun foe Lipscomb.

A year ago, Belmont finished fourth at the second meet of the season.  The Bruins traveled to Tuscaloosa to compete in the Crimson Classic Invitational.  Senior Jordan Anderson is the top returner from this point last year, finishing sixth at Alabama in 2009.  Freshman Erick Kigen was the top performer at USC Upstate in Belmont's first race of 2010, placing third overall.

After competition at Percy Warner Park this weekend, BU will next travel to Louisville for the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday, October 2.
