Cross Country Heads To Evansville Invitational On Saturday
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Belmont men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Indiana this weekend for the Evansville Invitational set to take place on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. The meet will mark the final tune up before the Bruins return home for the Atlantic Sun Championships on October 29.
The men's eight kilometer race is set to go off at 11:00 a.m. Belmont is currently ranked 12th in the regional rankings, sandwiched between A-Sun foes Kennesaw State at 11 and ETSU at 13. The Bruins will look to junior Matt Miller (LaPorte, Ind.) to lead the team this Saturday after finishing first for BU in each of the team's first three races.
The women's five kilometer race will start at approximately 11:45 a.m. following the men's finish. The Bruins are fresh off a fantastic performance at the Charlotte Invitational. BU took sixth place out of 36 teams in competition. Junior Nicole Muldowney (Hoover, Ala.) led the way for Belmont for the first time this year placing 26th out of 289 runners.
