NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's basketball team is honored to host a toy drive to benefit Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. The team will be visiting with patients and delivering donated toys and clothing items on December 13.
"In our continued commitment to serving the Nashville community, Belmont women's basketball is honored to host this year's Toy Drive," said Head Coach Cameron Newbauer. "Every child deserves to share that experience of having gifts to unwrap on Christmas morning and we are excited to help brighten the holiday in those special young people's lives.
"We will be visiting the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt later this month with the generous toys and clothing donated by our fans and friends. We invite you to join with us and share the joy and love of the season with those in need."
Please consider brightening the Christmas of a youth patient at Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt by donating a new, unwrapped toy. The hospital is in the greatest need of the following donations:
- Fisher Price medical kits
- Small Lego sets
- Infant and toddler light and sound toys
- Tactile toys for all ages
- Teen gifts
- All in one craft kits
- Pajama sets (infant to teen sizes)
- Elastic waisted sweat pants or leggings (infant to teen sizes)
- Short-sleeve shirts (infant to teen sizes)
- Long-sleeve shirts (infant to teen sizes)
- Sweat shirts (child to teen sizes)
Note: For the safety of the children, the hospital cannot accept stuffed animals or toys with cloth or hair.
Donations will be collected starting today, December 4 through December 12 at the Athletic Department offices in the Curb Event Center. Donations will also be accepted at the women's basketball game vs. Georgia on December 12. Fans who donate a toy at the game are eligible to receive the group ticket discount of $3 for adults and $1 for youth. Donation discount is good only for the December 12th game.
