NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's basketball team will look to build on the momentum of its recent scrappy win when it hits the road this weekend. The Bruins (8-14, 5-4 OVC) face off at in-state rival Tennessee Tech (8-13, 5-3 OVC) on Saturday.
TTU enters Saturday's dual after picking up its first win in three tries earlier this week. The Golden Eagles stand at 8-13 overall and 5-3 in the OVC.
Tennessee Tech is led in scoring by Diamond Henderson, who averages 18.1 points per contest. Candace Parson leads the team in rebounds, grabbing 6.1 per outing.
TTU leads the all-time series, 26-15. Belmont won the meeting between the programs earlier this season, 62-53, in Nashville.
The Bruins enter Saturday's matchup after holding off a feisty Morehead State team in the Curb Event Center to snap a two-game skid.
Junior Jordyn Luffman (Lawrenceburg, Tenn.) leads the Bruins in scoring, averaging 14.5 points, and rebounds, pulling down 7.2 per outing. Junior Adrienne Tarrence (Bowling Green, Ky.) leads the team in assists with a total of 90. Freshman Lauren Thompson (Franklin, Tenn.) and sophomore Blair Bryce (Red Oak, Texas) lead BU in blocks with 13 and 12, respectively.
Saturday's game is set to tip at 5:30 p.m. and can be seen live on the OVC Digital Network. Fans can also listen live to Dr. Rich Tiner on the play-by-play call on the Bruins Sports Network. Live stats and an in-game Twitter stream (@BelmontWBB) will also be available.
