NASHVILLE, Tenn.- After averaging 15.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game last week in a pair of Belmont victories, Belmont University women's basketball center Sally McCabe (Mt. Juliet, Tenn.) was named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
McCabe scored in double figures in both of Belmont's wins and finished the week with her first double double of the season. After tallying 12 points, seven rebounds and four blocks against UT Martin in Belmont's 71-66 victory, McCabe put together her best all-around game of the season against SEMO as she tied season highs in points (19) and rebounds (13) while tieing a career best with seven blocked shots. McCabe finished with a team-best 11 blocks and a team-best 31 points for the week, anchoring Belmont's offense and defense in its 2-0 week of conference play.
