Bruin Something Special

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Belmont University women's basketball team (27-6) saw its record-setting season come to an end this past Friday, dropping a highly-contested 73-70 matchup at fourth-seeded Kentucky. The No. 13 seed Bruins, playing on the road in a hostile road environment, twice erased 12-point deficits by truly demonstrating a never say die attitude. With two defenders draped all over her sophomore Darby Maggard (Larwill, Ind.) wiggled free to hoist a shot at the buzzer but her attempt bounced off the back of the rim and out as the horn sounded. Belmont battled adversity and gave the SEC power all it could handle. While the result may not have been what it strived for, it's clear Belmont is building something special. Several national media members and fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the Bruins.
