Women's Golf Stands 15th after Round One at the Memphis Women's Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team stands in 15th place after round one of the Memphis Women's Invitational held Monday at the Ridgeway Country Club in Memphis, Tennessee.  Round two was not completed due to darkness.

Playing in windy and wet conditions in the Bluff City, Belmont carded a team score of 337 in round one to stand in 15th place.  Host Memphis had the team lead as they shot a 305 on Monday.

The Bruins were led by junior Jennifer Newman, who was tied for 43rd place after posting an 82 in round one.  Sophomores Janet Steen and Shay Sullivan were tied for 49th place after both shot an 83 on Monday.   Megan Murphy was tied for 78th after shooting an 89, while Patricia Masick stood in a tie for 82nd after posting a 90.

The tournament will conclude Tuesday with the remaining holes of the second round and the third and final round.  Play will begin at 8:30am.
