Women's Golf Finishes 9th at the Lady Eagle Invitational
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Belmont women's golf team finished in ninth place at the USM Lady Eagle Invitational held this week at Hattiesburg Country Club in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
The Bruins shot a team score of 323 on Tuesday to finish in ninth place with a 36-hole score of 647. Troy University was the tournament champion with a score of 609.
Belmont had two golfers finish among the top-25. Freshman Sydney Hudson tied for 12th place. She carded a 78 on Tuesday to finish with a score of 155. It was her fourth top-15 finish of the season. Junior Janet Steen tied for 25th place with a two round score of 159. She carded a 78 in the final round. Other Belmont scores from the tournament included: senior Kelly Maguigan (T-46th, 167), senior Jennifer Newman (T-56th, 170), and junior Megan Murphy (T-56th, 170).
Three Bruins played as individuals: Evin Edens (T-12th, 155), Morgan McQuary (T-60th, 172), and Patricia Masick (67th, 181).
The women's golf team returns to the course on April 2-3 as they host the Belmont Invitational at Old Hickory Country Club in Old Hickory, TN.
