Women's Golf Hosts the Belmont Invitational This Monday and Tuesday
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team hosts the second annual Belmont Women's Invitational this Monday and Tuesday, April 2-3, at Old Hickory Country Club in Old Hickory, Tennessee.
The tournament will be a two-day, 36-hole event and features seven schools from the states of Indiana, Tennessee and Alabama. This year's field includes: Austin Peay, Evansville, Lipscomb, Tennessee Tech, Trevecca, UAB, and host Belmont.
In three events this spring, the Bruins have finished in the top-10 twice, including a fourth place finish at the Ann Rhoads Invitational in February. Junior Janet Steen leads the Bruins in scoring with a 77.4 average and has posted five top-10 finishes.
Old Hickory Country Club, established in 1926 and one of the oldest clubs in Middle Tennessee, will be the host course for the Belmont Invitational for the second straight year. The course has hosted numerous state and national golf events throughout its history. For this week's tournament, the course will play to a par 72 and a length of 5,983 yards.
The tournament begins Monday morning with a shotgun start at 10:00am. The teams will play 18 holes on Monday, followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
