Henson Adds Fravel to Women’s Soccer Staff

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – New Belmont women's soccer coach Heather Henson announced the completion of her staff recently with the addition of Travis Fravel as an assistant coach. 

 

Fravel joins the Bruins after three years at the helm of the men's program at Division III Emory & Henry College in Emory, Va.  He also served as the coach and technical director for the Fusion Soccer Club (previously the Highlands Heat Soccer Club) since 2002.

 

"I am very excited with the addition of Travis to our Belmont coaching staff," Henson said.  "I feel his knowledge and experience of being a head coach as well as his energy will truly benefit the development of our team. He is a great addition to Belmont University and our soccer family."

 

Fravel served as assistant coach of both the men's and women's soccer programs at Emory & Henry from 2005 to 2008.  He also spent a combined four years on the coaching staffs of the girl's and boy's teams at Abingdon High School, culminating his career with District Coach of the Year honors.

 

He also brings a wealth of camp experience and training experience to the Bruins.  Annually since 2007, he has worked with elite soccer camps and academies in North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.  

 

He was a member of the Emory & Henry men's soccer team from 2001 to 2004, leading the team in scoring in 2002.  In his final season with the program, Fravel served as team captain.

 

Fravel has earned his NSCAA National Diploma and his state Goalkeeping Diploma.

 

Fravel, a native of Woodstock, Va., lives in Nashville.
