Clancy is a pitcher from Pasadena, Calif., and comes to Belmont from Mayfield Senior School. Clancy was a member of the SGV Velocity Gold team, which participated in the 2010 ASA Gold Nationals. Clancy was a three-time MVP and Prep League Most Valuable Pitcher, a two-time selection to the CIF Second Team and earned First Team honors as a junior. She has been honored by the Pasadena Star News as an all-area honorable mention, all-area second team selection, and all-area first team selection during her playing career. Clancy is a general business major.
“We are fortunate to add such a quality arm in Katie,” Head Coach Chris Kuhlmeyer said. “She comes from the same program that Mia Vierra played for, and has pitched against some of the top talent in the nation week in and week out. She loves to be in that circle and wants the ball every time she steps inside a stadium. She will push our pitchers for the #1 spot and add a tremendous amount of depth to our staff. Katie has good movement on all of her pitches, but what makes her so tough is she is so consistent hitting her spots. She isn’t just a pitcher either. She can swing the bat as well with some pop.”
