“Heather was one of our first commitments of this recruiting class and had I her ranked very high on our board since I got the job here in the summer of 2009,” Kuhlmeyer said. “A friend of mine encouraged me to come watch her while I was an assistant at Wichita State and she was playing 14 and under ball and since then I have watched her grow into a complete softball player. She can do it all at the plate. She has good speed, can hit for power from the right side and can turn around to the left side and slap if need be. She will give us the flexibility in our lineup as a leadoff type hitter with some pop, or someone in the middle of the lineup that can drive in runs. Defensively, she has a great arm and can play centerfield as well as anyone in the country.”
