NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's tennis program announces that Maddie Gilley has signed a National Letter of Intent and will compete for the Bruins beginning in the fall of 2013.
Gilley, an Ohio native, was a four-year starter for Aurora High School. During her four-year prep career, she compiled a 95-14 singles record and was a four-time Conference MVP. She also earned two Ohio Division I State Tournament berths, the first by any female tennis player in Aurora High School history. In addition to her prep career, she has been consistently ranked among the top-20 in the USTA Ohio junior rankings and has won or been a finalist in over 50 USTA junior tournaments.
"I am excited to have Maddie join our program," said Mark Srouji, Belmont head coach. "She will be a great asset for our team for years to come."
The women's tennis team opens its 2013 spring schedule on January 18th as they play Georgetown (Ky.) in a neutral site match in Lexington, Kentucky.
